“I lost a good bit of weight between Stronglife Gym and Slimming World, but I hit the dreaded plateau about a year and a half ago.
I was in Colm’s gym gaining strength and shape but the pounds weren’t shifting as fast anymore.
Fast forward to December 2020 and I went hell for leather into hibernation mode, in preparation for the latest lockdown - eating out, drinks, takeaways all month, on top of the normal Christmas debauchery.
As I struggled to get into my work trousers in January I was eager to start into the first 6 weeks challenge.

“I know some may look at this and think why on earth would she need to lose weight?
But I was stuck in a routine of comfort eating and not being active. And just over a year ago, I was on the opposite side of the coin.
I was underweight, obsessed with calories, felt under pressure to be “skinny” and had a poor relationship with food.

Hi, I’m Colm - founder and owner of StrongLife Gym.
Growing up, I was always the chubby kid. However, as I rolled through my teenage years, the weight kept piling on until just before my 22nd birthday, I tipped the scales at 18 stone.
My heart sank. The last remaining bit of confidence evaporated.
And I never felt so low.
