StrongLife Member of The Month – January 2018
January 2018 is done, and this year I’m doing a Stronglife member of the month award.
Over the last few years, we’ve had many great people come through the doors.
So throughout 2018, you’re going to get to know more about the fine people that train here and the great achievements they’re making inside and outside the gym.
So without further ado, say hello to MOTM for January 2018 – Fiona Malone.
It was summer 2016 and Fiona got in touch to enquire about joining the gym here.
The sun was shining, the doors were open and then all hell broke loose when she landed with 3 other lunatics in tow.
There was roars of laughter, groans from Squats but plenty of work got done.
From coaching Fiona since then, I’ve seen a lady who has developed so much both mentally and physically.
From a background of always worrying about the scales and doing cardio, she has developed a sense of well-being by fuelling her body, training it well and over the last 12 months we’ve all seen a massive transformation in her physique.
But enough about me talking, here’s what Fiona had to say:
1. What Made You Join StrongLife?
“I’ve been to many gyms and just didn’t feel that they were what I was looking for.
Classes like bums and tums, step aerobics etc. didn’t appeal to me.
There is nothing wrong with those classes but I wanted something different so along came stronglife.
I wanted somewhere I could be shown how to lift weights correctly, be empowered to train with weights and get stronger whilst always having coaching at hand on any topic I had questions.
Strong life is exactly what I was looking for. I’m not going to lie it’s tough, I do be in pain every second day. Colm is always on hand to say add more weights.
2. How Has StrongLife Made A Difference To You?
“Stronglife has made a difference to me because I feel more confident in my own skin now.
I’m proud of myself for all the hard work I have put in.
I can look at myself in a clothes shop changing room and actually stand there and smile at myself instead of of saying to myself “oh my god, just leave now !!”
3. Would You Recommend StrongLife To A Friend?
I have on numerous occasions highly recommended stronglife to people, why?
You can train on your own.
You can chat with other members and have a laugh.
We can always give out too (ladies in the morning)
We’re all in for our own reasons but we all just get along and get our training done at the same time.
It’s just one of those gyms that make you feel right at home without being judged or feeling like you don’t belong.
Colm is there always to help and kick ass!!
He even has morning sessions now Tuesdays and Thursdays which for me suit me perfect”.
So there’s the Member of the Month for January 2018.
Fiona has been a fantastic addition to the gym.
She comes in with a good attitude, plenty of craic and isn’t afraid of hard work.
In 2017 she produced some of her best lifting and has Deadlifted over 100kg, Squatted over her own bodyweight and has a set of guns now that Donald Trump would be proud of.
So well done Fiona and sure we’ll do the same for 2018!
