What If Roy Keane Was Your Personal Trainer
Back in my IT Sligo days, I had a lecturer who LOVED Roy Keane.
I’m not even joking.
We were meant to be talking about Law, yet he somehow always worked a reference to Roy into each lecture.
And this was even after the whole Saipan madness.
And it got me thinking again recently about his love of quotes from good ole Roy.
What If Roy Keane Was Your Personal Trainer?
While Roy is quite the hot head, he has some decent advice from time to time.
And one of the most common quotes from Roy was:
“Fail to prepare, prepare to fail…”
And it’s very true.
But I don’t mean preparing your meals on a Sunday like the Instragram crew.
I mean preparing yourself for AFTER you’ve done your diet and are happy with your weight.
See, nobody likes to lose weight, feel great, yet slowly put it all back on in the months after you finish dieting.
It can be so disheartening.
And it leaves you frustrated.
Because you just put in all that work only to be back to where you started.
And the main reason behind it is that you’ve NO PLAN as to what you’re going to do AFTER you finish your diet.
You can spend 10-12 weeks dieting down and lose 2 stone or more by following Slimming World, meal plans etc etc.
But if you finish that diet and suddenly don’t have any plan in place, you generally gravitate back towards the way you used to eat.
The exact way that had you feeling crap in the first place.
And you’d surely feel even more crap after Roy puts the fear of god into you with one look!
Improving The After Process
One thing I’m working on improving here is making sure all successful dieters know what to do AFTER they lose the weight.
I don’t want to see people Yo-yo on the scales for years.
I want them to drop weight, feel great AND keep it off long into the future.
And the best way to doing that is by educating clients on real world nutrition, not just jumping onto detoxes and meal plans.
Because once you finish those and go back eating, you’ll soon realise you’ve not really learned anything about how to structure your meals, what calories you should consume and what a protein is.
So be sure not to fail to prepare.
Or maybe Roy will call around and tackle you like he did poor aul Alf Inge Haaland.
Keep up the good work!
