How Marc Claimed Back His Confidence
It’s a topic that most of us fellas would rather not talk about, but today Marc will tell you how he has gotten his confidence back, improved the way he feels about his body and how he is once again happy.
Quick bit of context. Marc had been in the gym a few months but needed a little more of a push to really make a change for himself so he took on our Shift A Stone Challenge to focus himself on developing a better understanding of food, drop some weight, tone up and feel better about himself.
So here’s Marc himself:
“The SAS Challenge was beneficial and surprising to me on so many levels.
I was doing everything right in the gym before it but it was outside of it that was my problem. I was clueless when it came to balancing my calorie intake and my weight loss had hit a brick wall. That’s why I knew I had to sign up to the SAS Challenge as I knew Colm would be the man to help me sort that out.
I quickly learned how to manage my calories on a daily basis, realising that dieting is not all about starving yourself and eating good food without having to cut out the foods you love.
With all this new knowledge attained from Colm, the weeks flew by and the weight started to fall off again. At the start of the SAS Challenge I weighed in at 90.3kg and by the end I had dropped to 85.5kg.
I haven’t weighed this light since before I went to college in 2014.
Before joining the gym I was miserable. I had lost every ounce of confidence I had due to the weight I had gained since leaving college.
I woke up every morning hating the person looking back in the mirror.
As this challenge has come to a close, I’m happy to say that I feel better than I ever have. I have confidence again. I can try on clothes without feeling like sh*t.
In April I weighed 15 stone. I’m now down to 13.5 and I honestly couldn’t be happier. It’s all thanks to Colm’s guidance and dedication to helping us achieve our goals.
The SAS Challenge was crucial to making me feel like myself again.
But even more important, joining StrongLife has honestly been life changing.“
I still remember the message I got from Marc when he wanted to join the gym and get some coaching.
I was honestly shocked at how such a sound, young lad like him could have such a negative view of himself.
So to read his StrongLife story has been genuinely been very humbling for me.
These are the exact reasons why I do this job and why I love helping people like Marc get back to enjoying life.
It’s so easy to get bogged down with negative views of yourself when only a few small changes can bring you back to loving life again.
It’s been an absolute pleasure training Marc and I’m so happy to call him a friend.
He’s set up to have a great 2017 now.
