From Frustration To Simple Weight Loss
Over the last few weeks, one of my clients was dealing with some frustration in her pursuit of weight loss.
At the outset, I set up her calories and outline where she should get them from (protein/fat/carbs).
But for her, it was all a bit too much and she was struggling to get to grips with it.
She slipped into scrutinising every meal to see how many carbs or protein was in it.
And if she ate something she “thought” was bad, then she just bailed out on her diet for that day.
A typical thing that we all do from time to time.
And this is where a coach comes in.
Someone who can remove the confusion and frustration.
Someone who can give you a clear and simple plan to work on.
5.5lbs in 2 weeks
So what we worked on was removing the importance of having her macronutrients perfect.
Instead, I just got her to focus on sticking to her calorie guidelines and not to stress so much over the finer details.
And it worked perfectly.
From being stuck at 71.3kg she suddenly dropped to 68.3kg in 2 weeks.
That’s around 5.5lbs of weight loss.
Not only did she see weight loss, but she felt far more in control of her diet now and she was happy.
And that’s where the power of coaching comes in.
Being able to get to know the client and being able to assess the situation.
I could’ve fueled the fire and told her she needs to hit her calories and macros perfectly or not to bother.
But that would’ve just led to her abandoning ship.
Instead, getting a control of your calorie balance is the #1 method to weight loss.
So by doing that consistently, she’ll continue to see weight loss.
We can then look at fine tuning her diet down the line as she gets into a better position to do so.
Doing the basics well will always pay off.
