3 Tips For Getting Rid Of The Christmas Flab


It’s January 2nd, which means you may be carrying some Christmas flab.

You told yourself back on Dec 20th that you weren’t going to overdo it this year.

But sure the sweets kept on coming and there was a sale on prosecco.

So right now, you’re hiding under a hoody because you look a bit flabby.

And you might be panicking as to how get rid of it quickly.

So here’s 3 tips:

Get Back To Eating To Your Calories/Goals

The last 2 weeks has been a complete blowout for many

There has been an excessive intake of food, sweets and booze which has blown the arse out of your calorie allowance.

But it’s Christmas, so let’s not panic and start self hating shouting at yourself “why did you eat so much you pig”.

Even as I write this I notice a bit of extra timber hanging on but I know in a few days I’ll be back to normal.

So Tip numero Uno – get back to eating “normal”.

Bring portion sizes back to where they were at the end of November.

There’s no need to start starving yourself, just work on having 3 healthy meals a day and throw in a low calorie snack whenever you feel like it.

You’ve just had a huge volume of food and overindulgence, so just getting back to baseline is an excellent start.

There’s This Clear Fluid Thingy Called Water

Yeah, let’s be honest, our water intake went out the window the last 2 weeks.

Well, except for the water in the beer/wine.

So your second tip is to simply start bringing water back into your diet plan.

Look to knock back 2-3 litres a day and this will start to make you feel better.

Get Active

Generally over Christmas, we are a lot less active.

We’re not shooting around work, we spend more time in front of the TV or on a bar stool.

So not only has our food intake and calories sky rocketed, but our daily activity levels dropped.

We consumed more calories whilst also burning less, which of course leads to a bit of fat gain.

So get back exercising in any shape or form – just get moving.

The Conclusion

There’s no magic fix for the post Christmas pudge.

Forget about detoxes, cleanses etc.

They’ll only make your wallet lighter.

At the end of the day, you just spent 10-14 days gorging on food, beer and sweets.

Of course you’re not going to be feeling the best right now.

But if you simply get back into the routine of moving plenty, eating healthy and throwing in exercise then you’re well on your way.

It’ll take a few days but every day you will wake up feeling better and seeing the Christmas bloat reducing.
